UAE National Day: Celebrate responsibly, Abu Dhabi police urges residents
Motorists are allowed to decorate their vehicles from November 25 to December 6.
UAE National Day is around the corner and the Abu Dhabi Police have issued guidelines on celebrations, especially about decorating vehicles - one of the common ways residents celebrate the patriotic fervour.
The police said on its official Twitter account that motorists are allowed to decorate their vehicles from November 25, until December 6, to maintain maximum traffic safety standards during the celebrations.
Authorities will monitor all roads and streets in Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra and Al Ain to detect any traffic violations. Reckless driving that endangers people or other motorists is punishable by Dh2000 fine, 12 black points and vehicle impoundment.
Brigadier-General Mohammad Dahi Al Humairi, director of the traffic and patrols directorate in the central operations sector of the Abu Dhabi Police, said the police will work to enhance the celebratory mood that reflects the spirit of the Union. He urged all motorists to abide by the traffic laws, celebrate responsibly and cooperate with traffic officers for their own safety.
