A partial solar eclipse is set to happen on August 11, the last day of the current lunar month.
It coincides with the night during which the Eid crescent will be sighted, marking the first day of Zhil Hijjah.
Sources indicate that the moon will not be visible either by telescope or naked eye, and thus the 12th will be considered the last day of the lunar month and August 13 the first day of Zhil Hijjah.
In that case, August 21 will be Arafah day and the day after, Wednesday, August 22, the first day of Eid Al Adha.
As for the official announcement, it rests on other factors which will be ascertaining the correct date for Eid.

The partial solar eclipse will cover approximately 74 per cent of the sun's surface area. It will be seen from northern regions of Asia, Europe, eastern areas of North America, according to Mohamed Odeh, International Astronomical Centre (IAC) director. The eclipse will start at 8:59am and end at 11:33am.
The IAC in Abu Dhabi indicated several Islamic countries will be sighting the moon on Saturday, August 11.
