9 free offers in UAE to celebrate Happiness Day

Dubai - An array of offers has been launched for the UAE residents.

March 20 is being celebrated as the International Day of Happiness. The UAE has a special standing in the Happiness index, as the country has been ranked number one among all Arab countries, while it is number 21 globally, according to the World Happiness Report for 2017.

On the occasion, an array of offers has been launched that the UAE residents can avail of. Here are a few:

Free ride in Dubai

Free taxi rides will be rolled out to at least 100 lucky visitors landing at the Dubai International Airport (Terminals 1 to 3). Both residents and visitors can enjoy free tours aboard the Happiness Bus as well, to popular tourist spots like the Global Village, La Mer and Dubai Parks & Resorts.

On the weekend, hop on to Happiness Bus for a free ride to Hatta Dam, where you can enjoy kayaking with other UAE residents for free.

Free gifts for Metro riders

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will also distribute gift and chocolates to commuters at Dubai Metro Station on the occasion of Happiness Day.

Smiley visa on Happiness Day

Travellers flying into Dubai on Tuesday were greeted by friendly faces both in person and in their passports.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs distributed happiness stamps to all customs officers at Dubai airports. The stamp is inscribed in red with a jovial smiley face and reads "Welcome to the Happy UAE" in both Arabic and English. The date, March 20, 2018, is also featured near the top right corner of the stamp.

50% discount on groceries

You can enjoy 50 per cent discount on consumer goods and food from today. The initiative, which is valid till April 20, has been kicked off by the Ministry of Economy as part of the World Happiness Day in cooperation with co-operative outlets and other hypermarket and supermarket chains in the country.

The price cut will cover more than 600 stores across the UAE.

Free parking in Ajman

In a move that has delighted morning commuters, the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has suspended all paid parking metre operations in Ajman.
The municipality tweeted on their twitter handle @AjmanMun, regarding the event. Parking metres can be seen sporting a jaunty yellow cloth with the words 'Your parking is on us. World Happiness Day' written on it. 

Free entry to visitors wearing yellow

In the celebration of the Happiness Day, the first 20 people wearing anything yellow will be granted free access to the Legoland Water Park.
The park also offers a wide variety of entertainment in the park that includes a parade, clowns, face painting and more.

Happiness Journey at City Walk Dubai

Dubai (City Walk) - one of the newest and usually quieter neighbourhood - came alive with music and dance performances in a five-day run-up to the Happiness Day.
More than 2,000 people of 200 nationalities living in the UAE participated in the Journey of Happiness opening carnival on Thursday, March 15. The carnival had participants of all ages and nationalities showcasing their culture through a variety of dances, music and other performances as they walked up and down the street. The activities of the journey would culminate with the celebration of the International Day of Happiness today. Anybody can attend it for free from 4pm to 10pm at Dubai Design District.

Free gifts at Dubai Safari

Free gifts, face painting, fun activities and lots of surprises await the visitors today, Dubai Safari Park tweeted.

Celebrations at Zaabeel park's Happiness Market
