6 prisoners accept Islam in UAE

Ras Al Khaimah - The converts included three men and three women.

Six inmates of the Ras Al Khaimah Punitive and Correctional Establishment have converted to Islam, officials announced on Sunday. Brigadier Yaqoob Yusuf Abu Laila, director of the establishment, said the male and female inmates had informed the police about their wish to convert.
The converts - all Nigerians - included three women and three men.

They took the Shahadah (Muslim profession of faith) in the presence of senior officials of the Dar Al Ber Society and Zakat Fund.

"The Ras Al Khaimah Punitive and Correctional Establishment spares no effort in developing awareness of all inmates about the tolerant and merciful teachings of Islam," said Brig Yaqoob.
