Parental negligence is blamed for the death of a two-year-old Syrian girl who fell from the window of her eighth floor apartment in Al Majaz 2 in Sharjah.

Police said that they received a call at 2.30pm about the incident and rushed to the site where they found the girl - identified as Juddy MK - in a pool of blood. A team from Al Buhairah police station that reached the spot in less than three minutes rushed the toddler to Al Qassimi Hospital but she succumbed to injuries.

The body has been shifted to the forensic laboratory for investigation. According to police, the mother was working in the kitchen when the girl sneaked closer to the open window and fell down. The medical team at Al Qassimi Hospital tried to save her life by conducting cardiac resurrection, but she was pronounced dead within a few minutes of reaching the hospital.

The family members are in police custody for interrogation.
