A tragedy struck a Dubai school on Tuesday after one of its security guards passed away in a traffic incident.

A spokesperson from the Universal American School of Dubai said: "An unfortunate incident took place outside the school gates of UAS on Monday afternoon which sadly resulted in the passing of one of our security guards. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the security guard and the rest of the security team at this difficult time and we are offering our full support."

The Nepalese community in the UAE was also saddened over the news. Sukumar Mechi, a logistics assistant who has been in the country for 10 years, said: "It's a very sad and heartbreaking news. It's sad to Nepalese community to see one of our own pass away," said Mechi, a commercial assistant at an automotive company.

Ashish Aale Magar is a Nepalese security guard who works at another school. He was in the same social circle as Pariyar was in. "He was a very nice guy and was always smiling. He was very honest and it's very sad news that this has happened. He has a family and children in Nepal and I cannot imagine what pain they must be facing. I am praying for them and I pray he rests in peace."
