The scaffolding of an old building being torn down slipped sideways and fell onto a road in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. A part of the old building also collapsed.
Teams from the Abu Dhabi Municipality, in collaboration with the Department of Transport (DoT), Abu Dhabi Police, and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), were dispatched to the scene.
The building along Zayed First Street was scheduled to be demolished.
Traffic was temporarily at a standstill as all the construction materials were removed from the road. No casualties were reported.
Abu Dhabi Municipality thanked the teams who supported the effort as well as their timely response.
