Emirati killed after car falls off UAE mountain

Fujairah - He sustained serious injuries and bled profusely.

A young Emirati man died after his car veered off and flipped over multiple times before plunging off the rocky cliff on the Merbeh Mountain road.
The man was driving his black four-wheel-drive car when he lost control over the steering wheel and the vehicle fell off the high mountain, sources said. "He sustained serious injuries and bled profusely. The car was also totalled due to the impact of the fall."
On being alerted about the accident, the central operations room of the Fujairah Police dispatched paramedics and rescue teams to the reported site. The man was in a critical condition and died some time later, sources added.
Police said all drivers need to be fully attentive on the road, and never get distracted on such dangerous mountainous roads.
"Reducing speed is also important to avoid such accidents," they said. The deceased's body was shifted to the morgue of the hospital for burial by relatives.
The traffic accident file was referred to the bodies concerned for legal procedures.
