Search and rescue operations are still ongoing for the missing cement truck driver in Ras Al Khaimah.

Sources at the RAK Police said that the central operations room was alerted on Tuesday at 8.23pm that a concrete mixer truck with a Sudanese driver at the wheel got swept away by the floods at Al Qur valley.


The driver was last sighted nearly 110km to the south of Ras Al Khaimah near Al Maneie town.

Footage of the truck amid flood waters was recently published on social media.


The search and rescue teams were on full alert and conducting their operations until 7pm last night, when the visibility levels declined drastically due to turbulent weather conditions.

A video of the police chopper looking for the missing driver was recently posted on social media.

Dubai police had rescued the drivers of two SUV vehicles washed out by RAK floods at Al Qur valley. The floods occurred due to the heavy showers on Tuesday.
