A 38-year-old Indian man was rescued after nearly drowning at JBR beach on Tuesday.
Paramedics on bicycles from the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) were rushed to the scene in 3 minutes time.
According to Mohamad Muhsen Al Qafli, after he was revived with first aid, the man was shifted to Rashid Hospital to monitor his vitals.
Director of the Ambulance Operations at DCAS, Essa Al Ghafari, said the corporation deploys several ambulance points near popular beach spots in Dubai.
Such ambulance points are furnished with the latest medical equipment, including defibrillators, ambulance vehicles, carts and motorbikes, as well as quick response paramedics.
Al Ghafari added paramedics are on high alert to quickly intervene and handle  emergencies. The corporation prepares paramedics for all possible scenarios, and ups the ante, especially during public holidays, feasts and public occasions, when people frequent the outdoors more often.
