According to a Sharjah Police official, the SUV overturned when the driver tried to avoid hitting a stray camel on the road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which flipped over several times causing his death.
Col Ali Saeed Al Jalaf, director of Al Hamriya Police Station, said that the operation room received a call at 7.45am, reporting the accident. A team of officers from traffic, patrols and ambulance departments were sent to the site. The team rushed the injured people to the hospital and shifted the body of the driver to the morgue of Al Kuwaiti Hospital.
Col. Al Jalaf added that due to the speed of the vehicle, the driver failed to control it, which caused the accident.
He urged motorists to be attentive on the roads to ensure safety of every one.
