Revealed: KHDA lists top universities in Dubai

Only three universities received a five-star rating.

Ratings for Dubai universities have been revealed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, with just three out of 17 varsities receiving five stars.
The new ratings system was announced yesterday by the Dubai Executive Council and aims to ensure international varsities in the emirate are up to standards.

The system rates each university from 1 to 5 stars, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
The University of Manchester Worldwide, London Business School and Heriot-Watt University were rated as 5 stars.
S P Jain School of Global Management, Amity University Dubai, Manipal University, Hult International Business School, City University of London, Birla Insitute of Technology, University of Bradford and Middlesex University Dubai all received four stars, respectively.
SAE Institute, University of Exeter and Murdoch University Dubai received three stars. ESMOD French Fashion Institute and Islamic Azad University were rated as two stars.
The Pakistani university, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology, is the only one that received a one star.
