UAE students from grade 9 to 12 will get lessons in diplomacy, scientific research and enrichment as part of their summer activities.
The National Ambassadors programme 'Estia'dad' of the Ministry of Education (MoE) aims to enhance and enrich students' abilities and provide them with 21st-century knowledge and skills.
The programme allows students to get acquainted with higher education institutions to gain the skills they need when they move to university and vocational studies according to the highest standards. The periods of application of programme tracks range from one to four weeks during July and August.
The programme comprises five tracks - scientific research, enrichment, entrepreneurship, diplomacy and the virtual summer training sustainability programme. "We worked with 17 universities and institutions to find skillful content required for each track. The programme has received great demand from students given its importance and role in enabling them to gain the necessary skills for the university. It targets national and non-national students from grades 9 to 12 alongside university students who have the passion and motivation for self-learning from all UAE public and private schools," said the ministry.
The 'Estia'dad' programme also aims to develop a qualitative and sustainable model for MoE's 'Our Ambassadors' initiative.
"The cycle of our ambassadors' programmes will start with 'Estia'dad' that will be implemented within the country. Students will then take part in our international ambassadors' programme and represent the country abroad," said the ministry.
The initiative seeks to provide students with entrepreneurial skills, enhance their critical thinking, and identify the best students in terms of performance and achievements to engage them in major programmes and competitions in the country.
