Hard work, everyday study, and concentrating in the classroom is the key to achieving top marks in the board exams, according to these stream toppers. Avelyn Kishore, the science stream topper from Our Own English High School, Sharjah, kept her expectations low and worked hard. "I owe everything to my teachers Moeen Khanum, Ruby Aleyamma, Suma Koshy, Beena, and Rema Devi; my parents, and my sister. I am blessed to have them."
Speaking about her study routine, Avelyn said, "I balance my study time and relaxation time well. I focus on concentrating in the classroom, and solving several application-based questions ahead of the exam." She studied five to six hours a day, took part in extracurricular activities, and played musical instruments.
Raina Lalit Shah, the commerce stream topper from Indian High School said, "I feel really great - like I'm on cloud nine. I've never gone for tuitions or coaching; my study has always been independent work."
She also commended her teachers' saying, "They are the best set of teachers I can hope for and they are the only reason I've scored these marks today."
Humanities topper from Indian High School Chaarulatha Ramesh Kumar said, "I believe that it is important to concentrate on what you're studying. I didn't stay up late and got enough sleep and managed my studies. You have to pay attention to what is being said in the classroom."
Nabiha Siddiqui, the topper from Delhi Private School, Dubai said, "I am quite happy with the results. I began studying during the summer vacation and wasn't procrastinating at all. I stayed away from social media. I think hard work is what gets you good marks."
