A new agreement signed in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday paves the way for the establishment of an Arabic Language Academy. The agreement inked between the Ministry of Education and Mohammed V University will see Arabic language curricula and teaching methods being developed.
It is part of the two parties' "commitment to promoting Arabic and benefitting its users, creating new horizons for its learners and elevating Arabic teaching techniques", the Abu Dhabi Media Office tweeted on Tuesday.
The academy will be launched in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre. "The academy will develop new curricula, teaching methods, and qualification frameworks for the Arabic language and its sciences," the media office said.
The agreement also includes giving priority to appointing qualified Mohammed V University Abu Dhabi graduates as teachers in schools in the public and private sectors. "In addition, the agreement seeks to contribute to the preparation of scientific and academic plans for the academy and all related materials, curricula and requisite courses."
