A 10-day mourning has been declared in Dubai over the death of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance. Dubai Government departments and entities will suspend operations for three days, starting from March 25.

However, private schools in Dubai will remain open on Thursday, March 25, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has clarified.
The authority also offered condolences over Sheikh Hamdan's passing.
"He brought thousands of students together in friendship, harmony and mutual respect - may he Rest In Peace," the education regulator in Dubai tweeted.
