Dubai Police busted four gangs involved in stealing 46 luxury vehicles worth Dhs11 million from across the country.
In a statement released on Saturday night, Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Chief Commander of Dubai Police, hailed the efforts and professionalism of the CID officers to help nab the four gangs, who were using latest technological devices to steal cars and smuggle them outside the country.
He also hailed the criminal forensic experts, who managed to analyse the data collected to identify the gangs.
A video of the operation was also released by Dubai Police.

Regarding the case, Lt. Colonel Adel Al Jukar, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, said the data analysis center of the Dubai police had detected car thefts in different emirates following a specific modus operandi.
Acting on the centre's findings, task forces were formed and each task force was assigned a particular role in the operation planned to catch the perpetrators.
Following the investigation, it had been revealed that four gangs of different nationalities were involved in the crime. The gangs entered the country on visit visas with the plan to target luxury cars and make off with them by using latest technologies that could override the cars' computer systems, ignite the engines and smuggle them outside the country.
The Dubai police coordinated with Sharjah and Ajman police to form a joint task force, which succeeded in nabbing the gang members and seizing 17 luxury cars at a port as the cars were about to be smuggled out on a cargo ship.
Thirteen more cars were found in some containers at a storehouse in Dubai's Al Aweer. In addition, the police recovered 12 more cars hidden in different parts of UAE.
Four cars that were used by the gangs in stealing the cars were also seized from the gangs.
