A security guard has been found guilty by a Dubai court of stealing products from the pharmacy where he worked.
The 23-year-old Pakistani guard's theft was discovered after a customer complained he had stolen his mobile phone on May 2.
The Court of First Instance sentenced him to three months in jail, followed by deportation.
A 29-year-old Indian pharmacist said: "I was at work at the pharmacy in Al Nahda around 11pm when I received a call from a customer complaining that he lost his mobile phone. He said he was at the pharmacy at 9:30pm and he had suspicions it was the guard who took it."
The witness added: "I went to check the guard's bag and then found items belonging to the pharmacy. There was an electric shaving razor, shaving foam, vitamins, and a male potency enhancement drug."
The guard claimed to the employee he had purchased the items previously from one of the staff. However, the latter denied on the phone he had sold the guard any such products.
When confronted with what the employee said, the guard confessed he did steal the items and also admitted he had stolen before but got away with it.
