The Sharjah Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 33-year-old Pakistani national who succumbed to injuries after he was stabbed several times at an Asian restaurant in Al Nahda area.

The victim, identified as M.A. Khan, was stabbed with a sharp kitchen knife during a fight in the restaurant last Tuesday. Eye witnesses said the two men made fun of each other initially, which turned into a serious fight and to the stabbing of the victim.

The police operation room received a call and immediately dispatched a team of officers from the forensic, CID, crime scene, patrol and ambulance departments.

The rescue team, who rushed to the site, shifted the profusely bleeding man to Al Kuwaiti Hospital and underwent several surgeries but succumbed to his injuries.

Police interrogated many people who were present in the restaurant, but did not reveal whether the murderer was arrested.
