A man was charged with forgery at a Dubai court for allegedly forging a parking ticket issued from the Roads and Transport Authority.
The Court of First Instance heard that the 25-year-old Indian resident allegedly used Photoshop to fake the ticket and then used it so not to pay the parking fee.
He denied charges of forging and using a forged document. He was caught on March 10 in Al Rafaa.
An inspector working for the RTA said that he was on duty when he was checking cars parked in a paid parked space in Al Karama. "There was a car with a forged ticket placed in the front. The ticket looked like the original ones but it was fake."
He alerted the police and the car's owner was called. "He handed the police the forged tickets when he came," the inspector told the prosecutor.
The defendant's place was searched.
He admitted during investigation that he forged an original RTA ticket copy and added changes to it by Photoshop. He also confessed he used the new forged ticket and placed it in his car.
A report from the general directorate of criminal evidence and criminology said that the two paid parking tickets seized from the defendant were forged.
The next hearing is set for August 6.
