A 45-year-old Indian man stood trial at a Dubai court for sexually harassing a Filipina cleaner he allegedly lured into his house.
The Court of First Instance heard the cleaner who claimed that the manager grabbed, touched inappropriately, and kissed her at his place in Jumeirah on March 3. The incident was reported by the cleaner's supervisor at the Bur Dubai police station.
The 35-year-old complainant was assigned to go to the man's place by her cleaning services company.
"He received me at the gate and said my job would take about four hours. But I told him I would take only an hour to get my job done."
She further told the court that he sat on his bed and requested her to give him a massage, citing leg pain.
"I refused and told him that my duties only included cleaning. He then touched my shoulder and back inappropriately," she told the investigator.
An hour late, he led her to another room and tried kissing her on the cheeks.
The cleaner escaped and informed her supervisor of the defendant's behaviour. Medical reports showed that the woman had suffered injuries on her hand.
The man was earlier convicted in a similar cat and had received a three-month jail term and deportation.  He is currently out on bail and the trail will continue on September 5.
