The Dubai Police have arrested five Asians who were involved in the sale of counterfeit products in separate cases. The police seized fakes worth Dh33 million from them.
In the first case, the police seized counterfeit products worth Dh23 million after raiding a warehouse in Ras Al Khor. The seized items included counterfeit watches worth Dh98,000.
Colonel Omar bin Hamad, director of the department of economic crimes investigation, said in the second case, the police received information that counterfeit goods were stored in a villa in the Hamriya area. The police learnt that criminals were using the villa as a workshop to duplicate branded mobile phones.
The police raided the villa, arrested four Asians and seized counterfeit mobile phones worth Dh10 million.
