The 20-year-old Indian porter worked for a company that is in contract with a travel and ticketing agency at the airport.
He has been charged in the Court of First Instance with theft.
He was arrested on January 3 at the staff gate. "Upon his arrest at 5:30am at the gate used for entry and exit of staff, we found a golden ring with him. He confessed that he had stolen it from a plane," a police corporal said.
The porter's duties included transporting the baggage from the belt all the way inside the planes at the departure building and cleaning inside the planes.

"He led us willingly to his closet where he kept the stolen items. He said that he had stolen on different occasions while on duty," the police officer told the prosecutor.
Public prosecution remarks included the estimated prices of the stolen pieces including the gold ring that is worth Dh640.
An exchange receipt worth Dh7 from Lebanese liras into the local currency was found and seized.
