Arab tries to rape sleeping woman neighbour, jailed

Ras Al Khaimah - The panicked woman resisted and pushed the man out of her house.

An Arab resident has been sentenced to three years in jail by the Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court after he was convicted of trying to rape his Asian woman neighbour.
The court records show that the suspect had trespassed on the plaintiff's house. He then tried to rape his neighbour while she was sleeping in her room, but she resisted and pushed him out of her house.
The panicked woman lodged a complaint against the defendant with the RAK Police who arrested him and referred him to the RAK public prosecution for interrogation.
The woman told the RAK prosecution that she was shocked to see her neighbour in her private room while she was sleeping.
"I resisted him when he tried to sexually assault me, took a photo of him, and immediately reported to the RAK Police."
The accused, however, told the prosecutors, and later the court that he used to exchange pleasantries with his neighbour.
"She always sat close to her window that overlooked my house. I could not resist entering her house."
