Abu Dhabi Police's forensic department investigated 9,415 criminal cases across the emirate during the past seven months of 2017.
A total of 6,644 cases were put under scanner in criminal laboratories in Abu Dhabi, 2,414 cases in Al Ain laboratory and 357 in Al Dhafrah.
The Criminal Evidence Department at Security and Ports Affairs of Abu Dhabi Police said the cases investigated included those involving forged passports, official documents and medical certificates.
Brigadier General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, director of Security and Ports Affairs, said world-class technologies are being used to investigate and resolve the criminal cases at three forensic laboratories in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafrah.
