7-year jail for Dubai man for killing lover, stuffing body in bag

His life term was reduced to seven years followed by deportation.

The Appeals court amended the jail term from life sentence to seven years, followed by deportation for an Arab salesman accused of murdering his Asian girlfriend.
After murdering her, the 31-year-old Arab man stuffed her body in a bag. The defendant had a relationship with the victim, Al Khaleej reported on Monday. 
The duo met each other at a nightclub and kept meeting at her apartment a couple of times. 
The victim had asked the defendant to pay her Dh50,000 after he wanted to travel with her outside the country.
Back from the trip, the victim asked the man to open a salon for her, that he would be a partner of. 
After giving her the money, the defendant noticed that she didn't open the salon and seemed disinterested in meeting him.
He allegedly asked her to return the money and break up with him, if not interested. She continued to ignore him, which pushed the man to commit the crime. 
He strangled the woman to death in her bathroom with a force that broke her spine. He then put her body in a bag and also stole Dh4,500 and jewellery from the apartment.  
The Arab man wanted to hide her body in her apartment but was afraid to do so. When the victim didn't turn up at work for three days, the police began to investigate and arrested him.
