Fans were left scratching their heads when Mumbai opted to take Bumrah out of the attack after he bowled the fourth over
The Ras Al Khaimah Civil Court has ordered a Gulf citizen and his insurance company to pay Dh50,000 as compensation to the parents of an Asian youth who died in a road accident.
The RAK Public Prosecution had charged the driver with ignoring road signs and driving inattentively.
The RAK Traffic Court found him guilty of the charges and ordered him to pay a fine of Dh1,500, along with a blood money of Dh200,000.
The heirs of the deceased — his parents — approached the RAK Civil Court for compensation against the financial and moral loss they suffered after losing their only bread winner.
In his plea, the defence lawyer requested the court to drop the case on the grounds that the parents were already paid the blood money.
However, the court ruled that moral compensation is different from blood money. “The parents suffered a deep grief after losing their beloved son and that has to be compensated with Dh30,000.”
The court ordered the defendant to pay Dh20,000 as court charges and expenses that the deceased’s family incurred from filing the lawsuit.
