The Ajman Criminal Court has sentenced a 31-year-old Arab woman to five years in jail and ordered her to pay a fine of Dh20,000 on charges of promoting and facilitating the use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances among women.
She offered crystal drugs worth Dh1,000 for free to a woman to incite her to join the group and get her hooked on the narcotic, the accused confessed during police interrogation.
Acting on a tip-off, the Anti Narcotic Department swooped down on an apartment in Ajman where they found the accused serving drugs to other women, police and prosecution records showed.
The police arrested her as well as the others on charges of abuse and possession of drugs. It was found that the woman provided and promoted crystal drugs to women of her nationality and made a huge profit.
