The Umm Al Quwain Police late on Thursday stated that the video of a murder, claimed to have happened in the emirate was fabricated.
Major General Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Mualla, Commander-in-Chief of Umm Al Quwain Police, stated that the video clip that went viral on social media has been recorded outside the UAE.
“It was not, as claimed, to have been video recorded in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain”, he said.
The police official has urged the public never to post, share or circulate such fabricated videos as such baseless videos destablise the security of the community.
He also said that deterrent action shall be taken against whoever involved in the fabricated video, as s per Article No. (21) of Law No. (5) of the year 2012 on cybercrimes.
The UAE law enforcement bodies do have all the facilities and technologies that enable them to track down the main source of these notorious videos.
