The Abu Dhabi Police have seized 423kg of heroin and crystal meth and half-a-million captagon tablets, making it the largest drug haul in the UAE.
Twelve suspects have been arrested from "different parts of the country". They had stashed the drugs in vehicle spare parts.

A video released by the police on Wednesday showed sleuths unscrewing the spare parts, which then reveal the drugs concealed carefully inside. The operation, codenamed 'lethal strike', was the result of "months of monitoring and follow-up".
Colonel Taher Gharib Al Dhahiri, director of the Drug Control Department, hailed the "remarkable success" of the operation in achieving a "preemptive strike".
Police forces across the country have stepped up efforts to counter drugs. Last month, the Dubai Police had seized 365kg of drugs worth Dh278 million after arresting 16 suspects.
