Court documents revealed that the woman had filed a lawsuit against her former boyfriend and his sister demanding that they return the Dh197,000 she had lent them.
She also demanded another Dh10,000 in compensation for the damages she suffered after they refused to pay her back the sum, but the court ordered the duo to pay only Dh3,000.
The youth, the first defendant in the case, had asked her former girlfriend to transfer the cash to the account of his sister, the second defendant.
However, there was lack of clarity in the court’s documents about the reason behind the youth’s borrowing of the sum.
The woman submitted as evidence the details of the bank transaction and screen shots of social media conversation about the youth seeking money from her.
The court also ordered the youth and his sister to pay the complainant’s legal expenses.
