UAE police respond to story of woman killing herself, 2 children

Ajman - Here's what really happened.

Ajman Police have issued a statement regarding the story of a woman who committed suicide after killing her two children.
The story, published by the Saudi-based newspaper Okaz, allegedly states that the woman had discovered her husband was cheating on her and acted in revenge.
Major Mohammed Bin Yagout Al Ghafli, Deputy Director of CID at Ajman Police, said that the General Command of the Ajman Police denied the news: "There has been no official reporting of the crimes mentioned in the news website." 
It turns out that the Okaz website was hacked by a trading company based outside the UAE. They published the fake news in hopes of having greater exposure and attracting clients.
The article had apparently given the name of the woman and the husband, who was "very rich" because he worked at the trading company.
Major Al Ghafli said, "We contacted the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, notifying them of its illegal activities. The links and rumours published by the site were blocked."
The law criminalises and punishes the spreading of fake news or rumours online.
