Dubai Customs has seized 115,589 counterfeit products, worth Dh216,000, during the first quarter this year, Musabih revealed. "These included shoes, electronics, clothes and games."
He added that customs transactions grew by 8.5 per cent from 2.4 million to 2.6 million over the same period.
"Up to10.5 million transactions are expected to be carried out by end of 2019 as compared to 9.6 million in 2018," he said, noting that Dubai Customs is processing 29,000 transactions every day.
