Ajman Police have issued an advisory for women shoppers, urging them not to leave their personal belongings in the shopping cart at stores.

In a brief statement issued on social media, Ajman Police particularly warned women shoppers in UAE to not leave their personal bag in the shopping trolley as it makes them an easy target for thieves, who would take advantage while shoppers are distracted selecting items in a store.

With the advent of Ramadan, families throng to stores for grocery shopping to take advantage of the discount offers. Women usually leave their purse in the shopping trolley while they browse around the store, giving thieves an easy opportunity to steal them.

Police urged women to always carry their personal bags/purses on them.
