A man was charged at a Dubai court on Sunday after he allegedly peeped into a tourist's bathroom and filmed her while she took a shower.
The 38-year-old man, a Sri Lankan national working as a warehouse supervisor, is facing charges of sexual assault and breaching the modesty of others at the Court of First Instance. He denied the charges in court.

The man was referred to trial on those charges by the public prosecution as it seeks a stiff penalty against him.
The case dates back to December 21 last year in Al Rashidiya when the complainant, a 22-year-old Sri Lankan, said she was in the shower around 12:30pm when she spotted a mobile phone camera fixed in the air ventilator in the window. "I stay in a shared villa with my mother and brother. We stay in a room which is annexed to a bathroom where the window overlooks a corridor."
She told the prosecutor the accused, whose room is just down the hallway, and has access to that window, filmed her naked with his mobile phone.
When she screamed, the accused, who was grabbing the phone, lost balance and fled the scene.
The accused confessed to the police and the prosecution investigator to the charge. He was apprehended on the same day of the incident. His mobile phone was seized.
The defendant, who has been placed in detention, will be sentenced on February 28.
