A car rental office employee stood trial at the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court for allegedly instigating a woman to practice prostitution.
The Arab man had met the woman when she had visited his office to rent a vehicle, the court heard.
As per court records, the woman, who lodged the complaint, said that two months back, she met the employee at his office and got a car on rent. After a few days, she was surprised when the man contacted her on her WhatsApp and started sending messages. Initially, he was nice and praised her beauty, the woman said.
Later, he told her that he knew men whom she could trust and their relationship would be kept confidential, while he would charge for working as a mediator, the complainant added.
The woman was infuriated and reported the matter to the police.
The complainant submitted as evidence to the court the WhatsApp messages sent by the accused.
The court adjourned the hearing to March 31 to declare its verdict.
