Mother strikes child on the face with a shoe in UAE

Dubai - Authorities were immediately notified and police called in to investigate the matter.

A mother in Dubai struck her child so hard, a shoe print was visible on his face for days after.
The 9-year-old boy had come to school one morning with his face bearing signs of abuse and violence, including a shoe print, as per Al Roeya report. 
Upon seeing his state, the school notified the child protection division of Dubai Women and Children Foundation to investigate the matter. 
The police were called in to investigate the matter. An officer was dispatched to the school to assess the level of abuse the child had been exposed to.
Police called in his parents for questioning, whereupon his mother confessed to losing her temper and striking her child because he wouldn't do his homework.  
She stressed it was her first and last time she would commit such an act because it caused her considerable distress. "I cry every time I look at him."
Both parents were given a warning and signed an undertaking to never harm their son. They agreed to provide the most nurturing environment for their child. Police continue to monitor the progress of the child to ensure his safety.
