A man has been awarded Dh300,000 in damages after his son was assaulted by another boy. The Abu Dhabi Appeal Court ordered the parents of the accused boy to pay the compensation.
The video of the assault was posted on social media.
According to Al Bayan, the father of the victim had lodged a case against the parents of the accused and sought Dh600,000 as compensation.
The court of first instance had issued a verdict which directed the parents of the accused boy to pay Dh300,000 to the father of the victim.
The parents challenged the decision before the appeal court, which upheld the earlier verdict.
