A man who received more than twenty calls an hour from a bank's debt collecting agent ended up in the hospital in Abu Dhabi.
The Arab accused testified that he was only doing his job by calling the man for the loan owed to the bank, as per Emarat Al Youm report.
On the day of the incident, the accused said the client had stopped answering his calls. He persisted in calling the victim from his own number until an ambulance paramedic answered him.
He informed the agent that the man in question was in the ambulance. The victim had collapsed in a public area as a result of high blood pressure brought on by the agent's incessant calls.
The bank agent brought witnesses from the bank as well as a signed letter from his manager attesting to his job description. The core of his work requires him to interact directly with the client.
After recovering, the victim pressed charges against the bank agent but later forgave the man and waived the case.
