A man will spend two years in jail and has been fined Dh500,000 for facilitating prostitution by using social media in Abu Dhabi.
The Arab national used Twitter and Snapchat accounts with many followers to advertise and facilitate prostitution, as per Emarat Al Youm report.
Two Arab girls had approached him earlier and asked him if he would post their photos on his accounts.
They sent him half-naked pictures in different positions to post. He agreed on the condition that for every person who contacts them through his accounts, he gets Dh100.
One man did indeed contact him and he forwarded the girls' phone numbers to the customer.
The man also had other pornographic content and videos on his accounts.
Upon his arrest, five phones were recovered in his possession. Public prosecutors unearthed several chats filled with images and transactions with sex customers.
