The Federal Court has sentenced an Arab man and his fiancée to life in prison for possessing and selling drugs in Dubai. Another man who was helping them was also sentenced to prison.

According to Emarat Al Youm, the man was arrested red-handed while trying to sell hashish to an undercover agent from the Dubai police. The woman confessed to cooperating with her fiancée, a hairdresser, as she smuggled the drugs into the country. She said the man promised to marry her and provide her a job.

The court has also sentenced the trio to two years' imprisonment for using drugs.

A police witness said the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotic received a tipoff about a hairdresser who is attempting to sell drugs in Muraqqabat area.

An undercover cop approached the hairdresser, who sold drugs worth Dh2,000 to him. Right after selling the drugs, police teams arrested the man and the whole team.

The police found that the accused were in possession of 26 tramadol pills and more hashish in their accommodation in Ajman.
