Two expats - convicted of possessing 5kg of heroin and promoting the drugs - will spend the rest of their lives in jail.
The Federal Supreme Court in Abu Dhabi has upheld earlier rulings by lower courts that handed the life in jail sentences to the Asian men after they were found guilty of possessing and dealing drugs.
The men were caught with 5kg of heroin which they tried to sell to an undercover police officer at Dh200,000.
Official court documents stated that the the police anti-narcotic department received information about some Asians who possessed and peddled drugs.
Disguising himself as a customer, the police agent had contacted one of the drug dealers and informed him that he wanted to buy some narcotics from him.
They agreed on a meeting place where the police arrested him red-handed as he handed 5kg of heroin packed in two plastic bags. His colleague - who accompanied him - was also arrested.
Prosecutors charged the men with possessing and dealing drugs.
Both the Criminal Court of First Instance and the appellate court had earlier sentenced the men to life in prison after they were found guilty of the charges.
The men challenged the sentences at UAE's top court, which has rejected their appeal and maintained earlier rulings.
