According to public prosecution records, the 24-year-old Saudi tourist was drunk and creating trouble outside a nightclub when he pushed the officer with force and caused him a hand injury.

The incident took place on January 2 this year, and was reported at Al Rafaa police station.
The officer told the investigators that he was on patrol duty with a colleague in Umm Hurair 2 at 3am when they spotted two men involved in a quarrel outside a nightclub. "The defendant was one of them. He was verbally abusing the other man and screaming at him. As I tried to calm him down, he pushed me several times, injuring my hand. He also insulted me."
A 42-year-old Nigerian security guard working at the nightclub said that he was on the job on the day of incident when he noticed the accused creating trouble with men, assaulting them and harassing women. "I went to him and took him out of the club. He became angry and started to scream out and insulted everyone. Then a police patrol arrived."
The guard told the prosecutor he witnessed the accused assaulting a policeman as the latter was trying to calm him down.
The defendant admitted to the charges during the public prosecution investigation. He confessed he was under the influence of alcohol when he resisted and pushed the officer.
A forensic report showed that the policeman was left with a bruise on his finger following the incident.
A ruling will be pronounced on April 30.
