The defendant said he had only pushed the man away to defend himself.

A 28-year-old has been sentenced to three months in jail in Ajman for kicking a 30-year-old Arab man in the face, breaking his nose and causing a permanent injury. He was also ordered to pay Dh50,000 in compensation to the complainant.

The Arab man was at a farm with a group of friends when the defendant, also an Arab, came in his vehicle, honking his horn non-stop, police records showed.

When the complainant asked the owner of the farm to tell the driver to stop making such a loud noise, the latter responded by assaulting him. He reportedly kicked the complainant so hard that he passed out and woke up at a hospital.

The defendant denied the allegation during the public prosecution's investigation, saying that he only pushed the man away to defend himself.

However, a witness supported the complainant's statement.
