A man was arrested for driving recklessly and ramming into a parked truck in Dubai.
The 20-year-old GCC national had been driving his SUV in a dangerous manner along an internal road in Mirdif area.
His reckless driving led him to smash his vehicle into a bus parked on the side of the road.
CCTV footage of the event was captured and submitted with the case filed at Rashidiya police station.
Salah Bufroushi al-Falasi, Advocate General and Head of Dubai Traffic Prosecution, confirmed that the youth will be detained for seven days pending the conclusion of the investigation.
He also ordered a technical report on the state of the man's vehicle, whether it was modified and damages incurred.
As per the regulations issued by Dubai's Attorney General, Esam Isa Al Humaidan, maximum penalties will be sought for such reckless, dangerous behaviour.
