The Sharjah Public Prosecution is investigating the deaths of two Asians who had a verbal brawl followed by fighting during which one of them stabbed the other to death and then took his own life by jumping from a nearby building.
Police records showed that the deceased were working as domestic helps at an Emirati's villa. According to the sponsor's testimonies, both helpers used fruit knives to attack each other and one of them was killed due to multiple stab wounds, while the other committed suicide by throwing himself off from an under-construction building.
The forensic investigation teams found that the quarrel took place in the backyard of the sponsor's house, where there is a water tank, a place for washing clothes, and a barn to raise birds. The team collected evidence from the scene of the crime, including a 20-centimeter-long knife stained with blood. They also found traces of blood around the place.
During public prosecution investigations, the sponsor said that he was sitting with his family members in his room in the evening when he was shocked to see one of the workers barging into his room - profusely bleeding, while asking for help.
The sponsor asked him who had stabbed him, but he could not speak. The sponsor rushed out and found traces of blood scattered on the floor. He saw the other worker near the barn, holding a fruit knife with blood oozing from his stomach. However, he was able to walk to a nearby under construction building and jumped from its terrace.
Police said they received a call from an Emirati who informed them about the incident. A team of officers from Al Gharb Police swung into action and went to the crime site where they found one of the workers in a critical condition. The police followed the blood stains and found out that the other worker had walked to a nearby building and jumped from there.
The police rushed both the workers to hospital but they died after a few minutes.
The public prosecution will refer the case to court next week.
