Ten prisoners have been recaptured so far, authorities said
Upholding the verdict of a lower court, the Abu Dhabi Appellant Court ordered the company to pay the compensation amount to the man after finding it guilty of breaching the terms of the employment contract. The court ruled that the manager lost his source of income from the previous job after his resignation in preparation for joining the new position.
Official court documents showed that the complainant filed a lawsuit against the company, seeking compensation for the "material and moral damages" he suffered.
The employment contract stipulated that the man would hold the position of director of budget preparation for the company for a period of two years. He was promised a monthly salary of Dh90,000, in addition to health insurance and air tickets for him and his family.
The complainant noted that the company had failed to fulfil the terms of the contract as he was made to wait for months, with no genuine reason offered.
The man said he had approached the management to tell them that the date of joining as stipulated by the contract had passed. He said he was earning Dh76,000 per month at his previous job.
