Couple robs grocery stores in UAE by duping cashiers

Fujairah - Three grocers lodged separate complaints against the duo.

An Asian couple was referred to the Khor Fakkan Misdemeanour Court after being charged with robbing three foodstuff shops here.
As per court records, the cases came to the fore in June this year when three grocers lodged separate complaints against the duo at the City Police Station.
In their complaints, they said that the couple had robbed them of different amounts from their shops.
They added that the husband used to buy some foodstuff and then approach the cashier while his wife would distract the man at the cash counter. The husband would then claim he had paid Dh500 and wait for the change, only to dupe the man.
The duo was referred to the public prosecution which charged them with robbery and fraud.
The case was moved to the Khor Fakkan Misdemeanour Court which ordered adjournment of the case to July 17 for issuing the final verdict.
