A Pakistani cleaner has been charged with premeditated murder in Sharjah after reportedly stabbing his compatriot to death. He confessed to the crime, saying he killed the victim for "bringing shame to his family".
Upon being alerted to the incident, the Sharjah Police rushed to the site and found the victim in a pool of blood. He was declared dead upon arrival at Al Kuwaiti hospital. Authorities then launched a manhunt operation and managed to track down the accused.
The 20-year-old defendant said he planned the murder after the victim posted a photo of his sister, claiming that he had an illicit affair with her.
When he got in touch with the victim, the latter confirmed that the Facebook post was already out and even sent him a link to it.
The defendant - who said he was overwhelmed with anger and determined to exact revenge for bringing shame to his family - then got a knife, went to his compatriot's residence, and stabbed him several times in the chest and abdomen, records showed.
