As many as 38 outlets were fined and 396 issued warnings by the Dibba Al Hisn Municipality during 3,875 inspections carried out in the first half of the year.
The raids covered all shops, shopping centres, markets, eateries and institutions across the city, according to sources.
The engineering control section issued 168 warning letters to the erring institutions during 626 inspection raids. Up to 167 warnings and 30 fines were issued against violating outlets during 1,386 inspections carried out by the food control section.
The health control section conducted 890 inspections during which they issued 40 warning letters, the sources disclosed.
The environment control section carried out six raids. The veterinary control section handed 14 warnings and eight fines to erring institutions while conducting 937 raids, they pointed out. The sanitation and sewage section issued seven warning letters as part of 30 inspection campaigns.
The municipality issued 210 contracts over the same period. The civic body also processed 820 transactions in the first half of the year.
